About Yoga

About Yoga

If you are new to yoga, we recommend that you take a beginner class or one marked easy. They are excellent for newbies and provide a good foundation to move into any other style or level of yoga that is suitable for your body type and disposition. Yoga is traditionally practiced in bare feet.

If you do not have a mat, it is provided free of charge. We ask that you kindly wipe it down with the wipes provided before rolling it back up and returning it to the stand at the end of class. Thank you.

Please be aware that everyone is different in their range of flexibility and body structure and everyone will look different in a yoga pose. Pay attention to how the pose feels in your body and do not try to push beyond your limits.

We ask that you refrain from wearing perfume and strong scents when practicing yoga as some clients are sensitive to these products.

It is important that you choose a class that will meet your needs and level. Please feel free to ask any questions or give us a call at 219-218-2378.

Beginners Yoga

Complete beginners should check out one of our beginner classes. Just show up 15 minutes before the start of class and we’ll show you around. The very basics of yoga are taught in beginner classes.

Candlelight Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a great place to relax and rejuvenate. Most of the poses are done on the floor, using props, supplied by the studio. Suitable for all yoga levels.

Hatha Yoga

This is a mixture of yoga styles. Suitable for those who have tried some beginner yoga and want to learn more.

Flow Yoga

Flow yoga is a little more physically demanding. This class moves at a faster pace and due to the nature of the practice, less instruction is given. We move from one posture to another integrating the breath. It develops strength, stamina and flexibility. It is preferable to have knowledge of the poses before taking a flow class. This class is not suitable for those with any injuries.

Yoga Mixed Level

Mixed level classes are suitable for people who have tried beginners and want to learn more. Pose adaptions are usually offered.

Warm Yoga

Our warm yoga classes are suitable for those with a little yoga experience. We do advise those new to yoga to start in our beginning classes. We heat the room to between 75 and 85 degrees. Please drink water before and after class to stay hydrated and practice mindfully as the heat limits the body's feed-back on over stretching.

To prepare for your appointment

  • Trigger point is done with clothing on as your posture will be assessed during the treatment and range of motion will be frequently tested.
  • Please wear yoga type clothing to your appointment. No jeans, zips, collars or belts. Shorts are ideal for the first appointment.
  • Please drink at least 24 to 48 ounces of water if you would like us to use Frequency Specific Microcurrent.
  • Please arrive on time or within 5 minutes of your scheduled appointment. If you are late the time can not be extended. If you are too early an other client is being treated.
  • If you need to cancel your appointment or reschedule please let us know 24 hours prior to your appointment time.
  • No shows will incur a full charge for their appointment.
  • Please bring an old worn pair of shoes to your appointment to check for gait issues.

There are scientifically mapped patterns for all types of pain and muscle dysfunction. We use the Travell and Simons approach to treating myofascial pain and often combine it with Frequency Specific Microcurrent and yoga stretching.

We treat shoulder, back, neck, knee pain, headaches, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia and much more and also evaluate for Morton’s Foot dysfunction which can cause long term postural issues and discomfort throughout the body.
